Hilda's future boyfriend... is a fish boy?
About a year or two ago, the crew shared a draft script for season 1 & 2, which had a line looks like it's saying
"Crush on Hilda - S2? Eventually - Boy lives in pond".
Could it be...?
I sort of thought it was nuts when this detail was first revealed, but now i can kind of see that happening... at least only from the side of fish boy towards Hilda, since it says "Crush on Hilda". ( Thanks [Sicarius#2609 / Discord] for reminding me of this! )
In my opinion, the Merman might have seen the love for nature & creatures, as well as adventurous spirits from Hilda.
Sometimes people can be attracted to another for their traits & personalities.
If the Merman also had these, or at least admire people who have them, it is possible he'll like Hilda.
